Smartix pass types overview
Smartix pass templates combine an Apple pass type with a corresponding Google pass type. For certain use cases, such as event tickets or travel passes, there is a direct correlation between the two. In other cases, this relationship may not be as straightforward. With the exception of travel passes, most Google pass types share a similar set of visual options. Apple passes, however, are more specific: each pass type has its own set of visual elements, with varying permitted image sizes and differing numbers of text rows.
There may be instances where the ideal pass design cannot be achieved using the pass type originally intended for your use case. In such cases, it may be possible to utilize a pass type designed for a different use case.
Smartix simplifies this process by recommending a range of complementary Apple and Google pass types, pre-configured with placeholder images and text. These templates can then be customized to suit your specific requirements.
Our pass types are flexible. If your use case does not align with any of our standard combinations, we can create a new combination tailored to your needs and add it to either our general library or your private library.
Standard pass templates
Section titled “Standard pass templates”With Standard Templates, you provide the barcode content and you provide your own scanning facilities. You have the full range of template types to choose from and can essentially create passes for any use-case.
Travel Passes
Bus tickets and passes, coach tickets, ferry tickets and even airline tickets. All of these can be created with Smartix.

Smartix Managed Templates
Section titled “Smartix Managed Templates”Creating your own barcodes and investing in scanning infrastructure can be challenging, particularly for smaller-scale applications. With Smartix Managed Templates, you don’t need to worry about this—at least not until you’re ready to take that next step.
Wallet passes created using Smartix Managed Templates have barcodes fully managed by Smartix, allowing you to focus entirely on the design and layout of your passes.
To scan and process your wallet passes, simply use the Smartix Scan mobile app, available on both Apple iOS and Google Android devices.
Event Tickets
Our managed event tickets provide entry validation, optional exit-validation (for restricted re-entry), reporting and live ticket management all in a low cost easy to use package. Includes pass updates and notifications all from withing Smartix Studio.
Stamp Cards
Print the Smartix generated barcode to allow your customers to scan and signup for a card automatically. Use Smartix Scan to add stamps, redeem full cards and manage cards. Engage with card holders by sendign offers and information via pass updates and notifications.
Gift Cards

Loyalty Cards
Smartix Loyalty Cards are coming soon. Offerign simialr functionality to our stamp cards, our loyalty cards will be instanmtly updated with points balance when your customers collect or redeem points.

UK Train Tickets
Our UK train tickets are approved by RDG and are made available to any registered rail retailer.
We support point-to-point tickets as well as Britrail passes and carnet tickets such as Flex-Season tickets which require in-pass activation.
Our specialist rail passes autoatically generate back of pass itineraries for Apple tickets (Google does this automatically).
